No-Hangover Paloma

Summer time brings out all my cravings for fruity cocktails, yet more often that not I need to opt for a drink with no alcohol because the hangovers are real!


Unfortunately, while alcohol can be fun & okay in moderation, it is definitely not a hormone supporting food. But I'm not here today to scare you with facts about how alcohol can hurt your hormonal & overall health. Instead I'm here to offer up a fun & tasty recipe for an alcohol-free twist on my favorite summer cocktail, The Paloma!


A Paloma is a cocktail that typically involves tequila, lime juice and grapefruit soda. This version leaves out the tequila, and opts for fresh grapefruit juice instead (which is a great source of Vitamin C and is decently high in Vitamin A as well... both are hormone loving vitamins). It also adds in coconut water & sea salt for electrolytes & sparkling mineral water for a healthier option to get that carbonation.



Ingredients:

  • Juice from 3 limes

  • Juice from 1 large grapefruit

  • Coconut water

  • Sparkling mineral water (like Topo Chico or S. Pellegrino)

  • Sea salt for rim

***You can also add a small dose of CBD or Hemp extract to the drink for an alcohol-free alternative that will still help you relax and feel good minus the nasty hangover and stress on your liver!


Directions:

  • Juice your limes and grapefruit.

  • Take one of the lime peels and rub it on the rim of your glass (this allows the salt to stick).

  • Sprinkle salt on a plate and then dip your glass until the rim is covered.

  • Pour the lime and grapefruit juice into glass. Add some ice cubes!

  • Top it off with equal parts coconut water & Sparkling mineral water!

  • Add your drops of CBD oil/hemp extract if using.

  • Stir & enjoy!
